Sid Hill was installed on Sunday as the spiritual leader of the traditional Iroquois Confederation.

Hill, who is a member of the Onondaga Nation, took on the title of tadadaho at a private ceremony held by the Grand Council of the Haudenosaunee. The council represents the Onondaga, Seneca, Cayuga, Mohawk, Tuscarora and Oneida tribes.

The previous tadadaho was Leon Shenandoah, who died in 1996.
