MONDAY, MARCH 18, 2002 Native American families in Utah are younger, larger and are often headed by single mothers, according to the Census 2000. Statewide, American Indians and Alaska Natives make up about 1.8 percent of the population, including those who identified themselves as belonging to more than one race. Five tribes make the home in Utah: the Ute, Paiute, Goshute, Shoshone and Navajo. Get the Story:
