The chairwoman of the Alaska Redistricting Board took the stand in a case disputing the political districts in the state and denied any pressure from Alaska Native corporations played a part in her decision to approve a particular map.

Vickie Otte works for the Association of ANCSA Regional Corporation Presidents. But she said the executives did not ask her to vote for a map they supported.

Instead, Otte said State Rep. Eldon Mulder, a Republican, pressured her against the map in question and made her cry. The map was adopted by the board in a 3-2 vote.
