In an editorial today, The Seattle Times says Secretary of Interior Gale Norton deserves the same "honor" of contempt bestowed upon the Clinton administration for their handling of the trust fund.

The paper says the Clinton and Bush administrations have "artfully stalled" resolution of the class action lawsuit brought by 300,000 American Indians. "No one even musters an argument that trust responsibilities have not been a disgrace since the end of the 19th century," the paper writes.

The paper also says Norton's plan to offer a new agency to handle trust is "equally clueless."
