The Department of Interior hasn't calculated how much money is supposed to be sent out to individual Indians this month.

A department spokesperson, however, told the Associated Press that last year's checks totaled $15 million. But the checks won't be delivered on time due to an Internet shutdown at the department ordered by a federal judge.

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth ordered the shutdown because hackers were able to break into computer systems that house the assets of 300,000 American Indians.
