The Navajo Nation on Saturday held a ceremony to present 228 Congressional Silver Medals to the Navajo Code Talkers whose unbreakable code helped win World War II.

In July, Congressional Gold Medals were given to the original 29 Navajo soldiers during a ceremony featuring President Bush. The silver ones were given to the Navsjos who came after the original group.

Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.) spearheaded the legislation to award the medals.

One Navajo who won't be receiving an award, however, is David W. Tsosie, 78. The tribe says Tsosie is not a legitimate Code Talker.
