Native corp gears up for fight

THURSDAY, MAY 2, 2002 Shareholders of Cook Inlet Region Inc. will attend the Alaska Native corporation's annual meeting next month to choose five members of the 15-seat board. A group including former CEO Roy Huhndorf is challenging the current leadership. Although CIRI's newly released 2001 annual report shows $423 million in profits and a record $440 million in dividends, they say the numbers mask financial and management mistakes.
