MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2002 Tribal leaders and lawmakers in Montana are expressing disappointment over the results of an economic study of the state's seven reservations and the Little Shell Chippewa Tribe. The study was commissioned by the State Tribal Economic Development Commission. But the consultant, RJS & Associates, who was paid $46,000 to produce it said the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Indian Health Service failed to provide important figures. Nevertheless, RJS said the tribes contribute $2.2 billion a year to the state's economy. RJS is an Indian-owned firm based on the Rocky Boy's Reservation. Get the Story:
