A Connecticut state lawmaker who offered a bill to terminate Indian ownership rights based on the work of a discredited researcher has come up with another tribally related proposal.

Rep. Jefferson B. Davis, a Democrat from Pomfret, wants to outlaw the state's "Las Vegas Nights." He believes this would prevent tribes from opening casinos in the future.

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal isn't buying it, according to The New London Day. "The fact that this kind of gambling already exists in Connecticut and is sanctioned by the state might make the repeal of the Las Vegas Night irrelevant or moot," he told the paper.
