WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2001 The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska's economic development corporation will be up for a $100,000 innovative government award. But it's not the money itself Ho-Chunk Inc. CEO Lance Morgan is after. It's the prized mousepads he will buy when he gets the cold hard check in his hands. Seriously, Ho-Chunk will be giving an Internet-broadcast 10-minute presentation on its successes at 3 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Ho-Chunk Inc. is the only tribal government operation chosen among 15 semi-finalists in the Innovations in American Government program of Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Ho-Chunk Inc. is a $60 million enterprise whose operations include Indianz.Com and AllNative.Com. Last year, it was a finalist in the Honoring Nations Program of the Harvard Project on American Indian Economic Development, also of the JFK School of Government.
