WEDNESDAY, MAY 8, 2002 The Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Law Enforcement Services will add three names to its police officer's memorial at a ceremony in New Mexico tomorrow. The BIA Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial is a tribute to those who have died while serving Indian Country. Currently, there are 78 names on the list, dating back to the 1800s. The names to be added are Officer Creighton T. Spencer of Elko, Nevada; Cherokee Nation Marshall Shelby D. Blackfox of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and Officer John Red Horse of Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Spencer and Blackfox died last year while Red Horse was killed in 1894. Blackfox is also being added to Oklahoma's memorial. Robert Ecoffey, head of BIA's law enforcement, will provide the keynote. Kenny Scabbyrobe of the Black Lodge Singers pow-wow group will provide a blessing. The memorial is located in Artesia in southern New Mexico, where the BOA Indian Police Academy is housed. Tomorrow's ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. The academy is located at 1300 West Richey Avenue. Today on Indianz.Com:
