Sides appeal Cayuga Nation ruling

The state of New York, local counties, private landowners and the Cayuga Nation have all appealed the tribe's $250 million land claim award on various grounds.

The state side is challenging the validity of the 64,000-acre claim. The tribe is challenging the award, saying as much as $1.7 billion is owed.
