MONDAY, APRIL 29, 2002

A Bureau of Indian Affairs employee who pleaded guilty the murders of four people told his supervisor of his alcohol-related driving record.

Lloyd Larson in June 2001 wrote a memo to his New Mexico boss. The June 2001 document denied a recent alcohol-related arrest but revealed he was arrested once for driving while drunk.

The families of a Nebraska couple whom Larson pleaded guilty to killing said Friday it would sue the BIA for $72.6 million. Another couple was also killed.

The BIA has instituted a new driver policy as a result of the accident.
