Sen. Pete Domenici (R-N.M.) is opposing a bill to settle Sandia Pueblo's land claim to the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico.

Domenici said the bill doesn't resolve whether the tribe owns 10,000 acres on the mountain's west face. He also said it could set precedents on wilderness areas and other tribal land claims.

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee and the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee are holding a hearing on the bill today. It starts at 2:30 p.m. A live audio and video feed are available.
