Navajo man facing murder charge

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20, 2002 Federal prosecutors are asking a grand jury to indict a Navajo Nation man on first degree murder for the death of his uncle. Garrett Lane Begay, 28, is being held without bail pending an indictment. He is alleged to have stabbed Thomas K. Tsosie 17 times in the back last month on the reservation. In related Navajo crime news, Tuba City resident Tony Mix was sentenced to life imprisonment for kidnapping and sexual assault of an ex-girlfriend on the reservation. Get the Story:
