Innocent plea over dragging death

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2002 A Bureau of Indian Affairs criminal investigator whose vehicle dragged to death a deaf, 21-year-old Pueblo woman has pleaded innocent to a traffic citation. Alicia Waseta was killed when she was struck by Marcelino Toersbijns' car on September 19. Having been cleared of possible vehicular homicide charges, Toersbijns only faces a citation of driver inattention, for which there is a fine of $46. Waseta was from Laguna Pueblo. Her family is suing the state and the Department of Interior for her death. Get the Story:
