WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16, 2002 The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Monday said that a settlement has been reached with African-American males who claim they were prevented from promotions at the Social Security Administration. Under the agreement, which has to be approved by an administrative judge, the SSA will pay $7.75 million to a class action of about 2,200 employees. The settlement also calls for the creation of a commission to review compliance with the agreement and a panel to look at personnel decisions. Get the Story:
