SEPTEMBER 12, 2000 A preliminary hearing for a Saskatchewan police officer accused of leaving a Native man out in the freezing cold began on Monday to determine if there is enough evidence to hold a trial. Darrell Night, from the Saulteaux First Nation, has accused two police officers of the January incident. One of them, Ken Munson, appeared in court and faces chargees of assualt and unlawful confinement. The incident, along with the deaths of several other aboriginal men, has heightened racial tensions in the city of Saskatoon and the province. Get the Story:
