Churches worry about suits

NOVEMBER 2, 2000 Catholic churches in Canada are still worried about going bankrupt over the amount of lawsuits filed against them by aboriginals. As many as 16,000 lawsuits could be filed by the end of next year. The lawsuits allege physical, mental, sexual, and cultural abuse at the hands of residential schools run by the Anglican, Catholic, Presbyterian, and United Churches. Get the Story:
