State and federal officials met in Wyoming this week to discuss a criticized study of coalbed methane drilling.

The Environmental Protection Agency rated the draft environmental impact statement prepared by the Department of Interior and the states of Montana and Wyoming as inadequate. The rating is the worst possible.

The state of Montana is still deciding what to do in response to the rating. The public comment period ends May 15.
