Last public hearing on Goshute nuclear
FRIDAY, APRIL 26, 2002

The last public hearing on a proposed nuclear waste facility on the Skull Valley Goshute Reservation in Utah is being held today.

The Atomic Safety and Licensing Commission has been conducting field sessions before it rules on the site. A decision is expected in the fall.

The state and many politicians oppose the facility, which would store up to 40,000 tons of nuclear waste. Some members of the tiny tribe are also against it.
