Mescalero fire not ruled arson

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3, 2002 The Bureau of Indian Affairs isn't yet classifying a recent fire on the Mescalero Apache Reservation in New Mexico as arson. The BIA nonetheless is investigating the blaze, which burned one building and about 16,400 acres. The fire came after a string of others which have been deemed the work of an arsonist. Get the Story:
