Conn. tribes helping plan U.N. event

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27, 2002 The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe are helping plan a United Nations event set to take place in Connecticut in July 2003. The International Children's Conference on the Environment will bring hundreds of children from all over the world to the region for a four-day conference at a local college. One of the themes is indigenous cultures. This year's conference is being held in British Columbia, Canada. Get the Story:
