FRIDAY, MARCH 22, 2002 Denied a local permit, the Oil-Dri Corp. isn't doing the same for needy cats in Nevada. The company delivered two tons of kitty litter to an animals shelter in Reno. The donation follows a similar one made last December. Oil-Dri wants to open a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week clay mine and kitty litter plant on land next to the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony. Tribal members and local residents banded together to get the project rejected. The Bureau of Land Management revoked its approval as a result although the company believes it can mount a legal challenge. Get the Story:
