WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2002 A senior Environmental Protection Agency official told President Bush's energy task force last year that the report it was preparing was based on faulty information, according to a document made public on Tuesday. Associate administrator Thomas J. Gibson said the report inaccurately blamed what was then an energy crisis in the West on environmental regulations. The memo was dated April 27, 2001, just a couple of weeks before the final policy was released. An EPA spokesperson, however, says the objections Gibson and others might have raised were resolved.
