Some 20 employees at Yellowstone National Park are receiving gas masks because they can't stand the exhaust and fumes from snowmobilers in and around the park.

The problem gets worse every President's Day weekend, when thousands of riders converge on the park. A gradual ban was introduced by the Clinton administration but put on hold by Secretary of Interior Gale Norton, who has since ordered a new environmental review.

According to The Washington Post, which said it obtained a draft, alternatives to banning would include limiting the number of snowmobiles and introducing new emissions requirements.

The assessment is due to be released next week, said the paper.
