The General Accounting Office on Wednesday sent a demand letter to Vice President Vice Cheney, alleging his office has delayed releasing documents on the energy task force he headed.

The GAO wants the information within 20 days, otherwise it could sue the White House. The GAO says this is the first time a demand letter has been sent to a President or Vice President.

Cheney and the task force held a number of private meetings with industry leaders and environmentalists.
