Cheney still not cooperating with probe

JUNE 26, 2001 The General Accounting Office is threatening Vice President Dick Cheney with strict action unless his office makes public the identities of individuals who were consulted in the development of the President's national energy policy. The GAO has made several requests for information but Cheney's office has not complied fully. In a letter on Friday, the GAO said it is prepared to issue a demand letter for the information. The demand could end up involving Attorney General John Ashcroft. The GAO could also file a civil suit. Get the Story:
