Of the nearly 1,000 public comments the Army Corps of Engineers has received, a project manager says all but one are in support of a fisheries plan proposed by the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut.

Included are some comments with racist overtones. The Army Corps says it will disregard those.

The tribe is hoping to enter the aquaculture business and submitted a proposal to place lobster and fishing equipment in federal waters. Local fisherman and others have opposed the plan, believing it will cut their access to traditional fishing and boating areas.
