MAY 16, 2001

The Army Corps of Engineers will hold a public hearing on June 25 to discuss the Mohegan Tribe's plan to develop a fishery in federal waters in Connecticut.

The tribe has proposed using federal waters as part of its larger aquaculture program. But the local community has opposed the tribe's plans because they fear it will prevent access to their traditional fishing and boating grounds.
