Comments on tribal fish plan extended

APRIL 18, 2001 The Army Corps of Engineers has extended by 30 days the public comment period on a plan to grant permits to the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut. The tribe is leasing federal waterways and wants the Army Corps to grant permits for a new aquaculture business. But fishermen in the area say the project will threaten their traditional fishing grounds. The comment period had been April 19. It is now May 19. Get the Story:
