DECEMBER 7, 2000 The Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas is still dealing with its water woes and has tapped several water sources in its attempt to keep water flowing to the reservation. Since the summer, the tribe has suffered drought and near-drought conditions. They have been meeting with state and federal officials, seeking long- and short-term solutions. The nearby town of Holton, 20 miles south of the reservation, is also having to look at alternative water sources.
