Chickasaw astronaut inspires students

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2002 The first Native scheduled to go into space visited the Crow Reservation on Tuesday to meet with students. U.S Navy Cmdr. John Herrington, a member of the Chicksaw Nation of Oklahoma, will be on the Space Shuttle Endeavour when it takes off September 6. He will take eagle feathers and a flag from the Crow Tribe with him. Get the Story:
