Tribe forms partnership with school

MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 2002 The Ponca Tribe has formed what is being called a unique partnership with the University of Nebraska. The tribe will purchase energy, at a discount, from the Western Area Power Administration and sell it to the school's Lincoln campus at market price. The difference in the prices will then be placed into a trust fund so that tribal members can attend the school on scholarship. The tribe can buy discounted energy under federal law. Get the Story:
