FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2001 A set of bone fragments -- believed to be Native -- discovered by a search dog on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's East Campus have now turned up missing. Rob Bozell, associate director of the State Historical Society, said he went to the school Wednesday to collect the bone fragments. The state was planning on testing them to see if they were human or animal. But he says the bones could not be found. He says he had offered to pick up the bones when they were first uncovered, saying he was concerned about their safety. A man involved with the search for the remains the school incinerated, however, denies the suggestion. Get the Story:
