Haskell offered $3m to support highway

TUESDAY, AUGUST 28, 2001 The Kansas Department of Transportation is offering Haskell Indian Nations University a package worth more than $3 million to support a highway proposal that doesn't run through sacred wetlands. The school and an environmental group had opposed the state's original proposal. The wetlands area is believed to include burial sites. Get the Story:
