Reburial of Jim Thorpe sought

TUESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2001 The family of Olympic legend Jim Thorpe are seeking to rebury the Sac and Fox athlete in Oklahoma, where he was raised. Thorpe is currently buried in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, but he never lived there. The village is located near the Carlisle Indian School, where he attended boarding school. The family has asked the village to return Thorpe's bones. Get the Story:
