Narragansett Tribe delays opening of tobacco shop

FRIDAY, MAY 23, 2003 The Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island delayed the opening of its smoke shop to discuss issues over state taxation. The state contends the tribe must charge state tax. The tribe believes it can offer the goods on its reservation without following state law. Get the Story:
