Crews having success fighting Taos Pueblo blaze

TUESDAY, JULY 15, 2003 The Encebado Fire burning on Taos Pueblo land in New Mexico was 65 percent contained as of Monday. The 5,400-acre blaze was started by lightning July 4. At several points, it has threatened tribal homes and has ventured into a sacred watershed. Crews hope to have the fire fully contained today. Get the Story:
