Woman shooting film on Onondaga territory

Diane Fraher is shooting "The Reawakening," a film about a tribal casino project, on Onondaga Nation territory in New York.

Fraher, who is Osage, is working with local Natives on the project. Onondaga Chief Irving Powless and Faithkeeper Oren Lyons are consultations. Jancy Ball, a member of the Oneida Nation, is the film's associate producer, and Jeanne Shenandoah, an Onondaga tribal member, is serving as a location manager.

The movie stars Michael Greyeyes as an Onondaga lawyer who works for a developer who wants to build a casino on the reservation. Jennifer Rice, a Tuscarora actress, has a lead role.
