FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 2003 The Osage Nation of Oklahoma plans to ask Congress to pass legislation that would reaffirm the tribe's powers of self-government, chief Jim Gray says. The tribe falls under a 1906 federal law that essentially determines who is a tribal member and defines the tribe's government In an article published in The Native American Times, Gray says a bill could be introduced this summer.
