Indian police officer in Mont. laid to rest

TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2003 A reported 1,000 people attended funeral services for Josh Rutherford, a sheriff in Blaine County, Montana, who was a member of the Assiniboine Tribe. Rutherford was killed in the line of duty last Thursday. He was responding to a domestic violence call. Larry Jackson Jr., 25, is charged with shooting Rutherford and injuring another police officer.
