Okla. tribes not ready to endorse new compacts

TUESDAY, MAY 27, 2003 Oklahoma's tribal leaders aren't ready to endorse new tobacco and gaming compacts but talks with state politicians continue. The state is hoping to take up to $30 million from tribal gaming operations through compacts for electronic Class II/Class III games. Racetracks would be allowed to operate the same games. The state is also looking to share in tribal tobacco revenues. Twelve tobacco compacts expired this year. Get the Story:
