S.D. tribe hopes project will boost economy

The Lower Brule Sioux Tribe of South Dakota is using state and federal money to study the feasibility of building a beef-processing plant.

The tribe obtained a $180,000 loan from the state and a grant of equal funds from the Department of Agriculture. The plan could bring 300 jobs to the reservation and lead to future economic development projects.
