Tribal police officer hospitalized for stabbing

WEDNESDAY, MAY 21, 2003 A police officer for the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe of South Dakota was hospitalized after being stabbed during earlier this week. Scott VanRoekel is reported to be in stable condition. Michael P. Roy, 35, is charged in federal court with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault resulting in serious bodily injury and two counts of assaulting a federal officer. Get the Story:
