A federal judge in South Dakota heard oral arguments on Friday in the Rosebud Sioux Tribe's hog farm lawsuit.

The current tribal administration opposes the project and the Bureau of Indian Affairs withdrew federal approval. But the operator, Sun Prairie Partnership, says the agreement it signed with a previous administration should be enforced.

The tribe has asked the BIA to close the farm. The Department of Justice says Sun Prairie has no legal standing to prevent shutdown.
