Colombia to extradite rebel for murder of activists

A member of a Colombian rebel group will be extradited to stand trial for the murder of three Native activists who were killed while trying to help the U'wa Nation.

Ingrid Washinawatok, a member of the Menominee Nation; Terence Freitas; and Lahee'Enae Gay, a Native Hawaiian, were found dead in March 1999.

Nelson Vargas Rueda was indicted for the murders. He is part of a rebel group called the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC.
