The Skull Valley Goshute Tribe of Utah held its semi-annual meeting last Saturday with one dissident characterizing it as "the usual shouting match."

The tribe's leaders are being accused of corruption by dissidents, all of whom have filed lawsuits challenging the leaders. The Bureau of Indian Affairs recognizes Leon Bear as chairman but Sammy Blackbear claims he is the rightful leader.

Blackbear and other dissidents oppose a tribal decision to host a nuclear waste dump on the reservation.
