S.D. shuffles tribal government office

FRIDAY, APRIL 25, 2003 South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds has placed the state's tribal government relations office under a new Department of Tourism and State Development, a move that aides say will clarify its mission. Roger Campbell, a member of a Pomo tribe in California who grew up on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation, says the Office of Tribal Relations will focus more on tribal programs and less on gatherings and events. As director, he wants to help steer resources to tribes. Get the Story:
