Bill signed for Code Talkers monument in Ariz.

TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 2003 Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano (D) signed a bill on Monday to create a memorial for the Navajo Code Talkers. The monument will be located at the state capitol in Phoenix. The $120,000 needed will come from private donations. Guests at the signing included Terry and Percy Piestewa, the parents of Lori Piestewa, and Navajo Navajo President Joe Shirley Jr. and Vice President Frank Dayish Jr., The Farmington Daily Times reported. Napolitano signed the bill in Window Rock, the capitol of the Navajo Nation. Get the Story:
